Nevada Mining conference moves to Tahoe’s Hard Rock

The annual Nevada Mining Association convention is a must-go event. The state itself is home to one of the largest mining communities and operations in the world.

This year, the convention is being held at the Hard Rock hotel and casino in South Lake Tahoe. From Sept. 7-10, government officials, business leaders and industry experts will meet to discuss sustainability, mining safety and economic impacts. Along with committee meetings and the vendor expo, an Environmental Protection Agency presentation will be enlightening. Alexis Strauss, acting regional administrator for Region IX, will be talking about “An EPA Perspective on Sustainability of Air, Water and Waste Management.”

And it is not all work, golfing and a boat excursion is also available.
